Star Wars started with the focus on Luke Skywalker and his adventures alongside Han Solo after Princess Leia gets abducted by the insidious Darth Vader. The 1977 science fiction epic, now known as Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, transformed the way moviegoers viewed the genre and also impacted the lives of its lead stars, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher, as the trio became overnight sensations.

The film also impacted the personal lives of Ford and Fisher, paving the way for their three-month-long affair. However, it might not be the actress’s most tricky moment during the filming of Star Wars. That spot is seemingly reserved for a scene involving Peter Cushing.

Which Star Wars Scene Left Carrie Fisher Dissatisfied

Star Wars original trilogy stars Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were the talk of the town for their acting as well as their affair on the set in the late 70s. After the release of her memoir, titled The Princess Diarist, the late actress revealed that her affair with Ford, who was married at the time, was mostly s-xual.

It was supposedly initiated by the then 33-year-old whilst filming in London, but despite Fisher wanting more from the affair, things didn’t lead anywhere as Ford went back to his family when filming wrapped on the original Star Wars. These revelations came to the fore almost 40 years later.

Another detail about Fisher’s struggles from that time came to light in 2017, but that had to do with her dissatisfaction with one scene.

Speaking during the Star Wars Celebration show, Mark Hamill revealed that the When Harry Met Sally… star was not entirely happy with her performance when Princess Leia met Tarkin (Peter Cushing) on the Death Star in A New Hope.

“I wish I could go back and do that scene again,” Hamill recalls Fisher saying many years later (via FarOut Magazine). “I really overdid the English accent,” she added.

However, Hamill disagreed with her and thought the scene was perfect and Fisher just got self-conscious because she was working around many English actors. Akin to Hamill, most Star Wars fans also find very little wrong with Fisher, who received plenty of love for her portrayal of Leia.
