Artur also contributed to the production of Netflix’s One Piece live-action project. He said:

“Certain storylines had to be cut or condensed for better pacing, and while some I’m glad were skipped, some others felt sorely missing. Instead, other storylines that felt very redundant were given too much screentime, such as Garp’s forced inclusion into the story,”

Apart from this, Arthur praised the overall adaptation and asserted that it does indeed live up to the hype. Also, he said that the inclusion of Garp has resulted in the indication of the upcoming releases in the same series.

One Piece Live Action Global Reactions

Initial comments on the show’s representation of renowned figures were mostly favorable. The series succeeds in capturing the essence of the source material. Its popularity can be attributed to daring stylistic choices and a cast of memorable characters. Luffy’s portrayal drew notice, and his more serious demeanor and wit brought dimension to the character. Even the creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, complimented the live-action series. He said:

“As a Hollywood production, the action and the VFX are great, not to mention the performance by the cast. But above all, I want to call attention to how perfect the Straw Hat cast is. It’s like you’re watching the straw hats in real life, which I’d love for you to savor.”

Because of the limits of live-action, some critics say the series struggles to emulate the unique physicality and spectacular combat scenes of its source material. Inconsistencies and continuity flaws in the editing were also pointed up by certain fans. Despite conflicting reviews, the overall mood appeared good, with many people surprised by how much they enjoyed the show.
