A recently released video raised doubts in the minds of her fans when she claimed to be opening her own “nail salon”. She said in the clip:

“I can not wait to get my license. I am so excited to start doing nails. I hope you will come to my nail salon when I get my license. I would love to meet you.”

The concern stems from the stark difference between the energetic, skilled actress we knew and loved and the seemingly more reserved version of her that has emerged in recent years. Channing Tatum has expressed his gratitude for Amanda Bynes’ 2018 Paper magazine interview, in which she acknowledged fighting for him to be cast in She’s the Man. In an interview, Bynes said that producers had their doubts about Tatum at first.

In a 2018 interview with ET, Tatum acknowledged that the actress had helped him land his first big role. Before 2006’s She’s the Man, the actor had only acted in a few small film roles and a few commercials. He said:

“I love her. I guess she sort of told me [that she fought to get me in the movie]. I love her.”

The G.I. Joe: Retaliation star gave Bynes’ portrayal in Andy Fickman’s film high marks as well, saying:

“She was just so alive. You never knew what was going to come out her mouth, she was just on fire… I haven’t seen her in so long. I love you, Amanda, and I hope you’re doing well.”

Rolling Stone claimed that Bynes was placed on a 72-hour mental hold in 2023 following a psychotic episode that happened in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, on June 17, 2023, mental health specialists concluded that she required inpatient treatment after she reported that she was having suicidal thoughts.

Regardless, it is clear that Bynes has had her fair share of difficulties over the years, and fans should show their support and understanding during this time. As we eagerly await the opening of her nail salon, let us remember the importance of mental health awareness in Hollywood and beyond.
