“It was some people in suits – brought the idea to me and thought it would be terribly exciting for me to play Green Arrow and I did not share their enthusiasm. I don’t know who Green Arrow is so, I don’t want to offend anyone. I looked at one picture and I was like, ‘I’m not sure green’s my color and I’m pretty sure spandex isn’t my material.’ Beyond that, I was like, one image, ‘Thanks, not interested.'”

Fans are not sure if Hunnam was approached for the role during Snyder’s DCEU era or recently for James Gunn’s soft reboot of DCEU. Either way, the actor is simply not interested in playing the character.

With Gunn setting up the new DC Universe, fans hope that actor Stephen Amell bags the role of Green Arrow once again. The actor played the role for 8 years in the CW’s superhero series Arrow. Hence, it will be safe to say that he won’t have a hard time playing the iconic character.

Since DC consistently denied any continuity between the cinematic universe and the TV universe, Amell never appeared in any DCEU movies. Amell’s performance was terrific in Arrow and introducing him as Oliver Queen in the new DCU would certainly be an exciting addition for the diehard Arrowverse fans.
