Courage, integrity, and honesty are values that have defined Chris Evans’ version of Captain America in the MCU. While the Marvel star has embodied these virtues to perfection, one controversial version of the superhero was not included in his character arc. In Marvel’s Secret Empire created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Captain America is a sleeper HYDRA agent who spearheads the organization’s domination over Earth.

While this storyline has been immensely popular among comic books fans, the MCU did not include it in the development of Evans’ Captain America, and instead chose to go with the upright and heroic values of the character. But a recent fan art by spideyvegas in a social media post, has given fans a glimpse into what could have been the dark and villainous side of the star’s character. Following up the stunning illustration was the caption,

“Somewhere in the Multiverse”

In the poster, Evans is seen wearing a HYDRA helmet and a mask, along with a black suit with a skull on it. While the star could not explore this twist to the iconic Captain America’s character, it is possible that the MCU may still create a Secret Empire storyline with another actor at the helm.
