No role showcases his acting capabilities better than his portrayal in the 2000 film thriller film, American Psycho. The scene must have taken quite a long time it shoot, due to the number of different locations and the chase that includes. It is because of this that it is extremely surprising to find out that in between takes, Christian Bale would casually hang out with the cast and crew in exactly what he was wearing in the shot, which was nothing. It was revealed that the actor would stand around in nothing but modesty socks and tennis shoes, all the while happily talking to the many people around him.

The actor, known for his method acting, put on an American accent for this role, which remained constant throughout filming, on and off camera. This meant that many people did not know that the actor was actually from England and had an English accent.

This news was broken to them at the wrap party. When the actor opened his mouth and started talking, many people were confused, thinking that Bale had taken up a new project that required him to have an English accent and that was the reason why he was speaking the way he did. This, obviously, was not the case and many were surprised to learn the truth. Bale can, however, take this as a compliment about how good his American accent is.
