The Far Cry series has had a reputation for casting prominent stars for pivotal parts in the franchise. Troy Baker, Michael Mando, Greg Bryke, and most recently Giancarlo Esposito played the primary antagonists in the games before. Murphy’s possible entry into the franchise would create so much anticipation for the game.
Throughout his career, Murphy has played some menacing villains in many films where his performance has been praised. From Scarecrow in Batman Begins, to Jackson Rippner in Red Eye, the actor has shown that he can be extremely terrifying and pretty brutal while playing antagonistic characters.

Cillian Murphy Returning as Thomas Shelby in a Peaky Blinders Film
Ever since Peaky Blinders moved to Netflix, the series became extremely popular among fans and it ran for six highly successful seasons from 2013 to 2022. Ever since the series ended, fans wondered about the possibility of Cillian Murphy‘s Thomas Shelby returning for a future adventure. While rumors of a Peaky Blinders film circulated after the series’ end, its creator Steven Knight confirmed it recently.
In an interview with Birmingham World, Knight revealed that Murphy will be certainly returning as Thomas Shelby for a Peaky Blinders follow-up film. They will start shooting in September in Digbeth, England. Knight said,
“He definitely is returning for it. We’re shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth [England].”
This is exciting news for fans and it remains to be seen what Knight has cooked for Thomas Shelby’s next adventure following the tragic ending of season 6. Seeing the character on the big screen will be an absolute treat for fans and following his Oscar win, more people will be interested in the project.
