Gears of War has been a strong asset and recognizable franchise of Xbox for many years and after a quick chat and interview with former game developer Cliff Bleszinski, he now reveals that he is very much open to the possibility of returning.
The franchise could strongly benefit from a former developer who left and experienced more from outside the studio that can help reshape and improve the beloved franchise.
Game developers who left their former workplaces to pursue other opportunities are not uncommon. Most of those who returned were embraced and welcomed with open arms and their newfound knowledge and experiences were crucial to the studio’s growth like Cory Barlog and Santa Monica Studio, who went on to direct the soft reboot of God of War.

Microsoft Is Sleeping On Cliff Bleszinski’s Passion To Return To Gears Of War
Fans and users of Xbox have been complaining and begging for years about Xbox’s lack of quality AAA first-party games that can rival the likes of PlayStation and Nintendo.
Fan frustration has been increased by deals with third-party major publishers like Square Enix, which granted Sony timed-exclusivity for Final Fantasy 7 Remake, its sequel in the form of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
The enthusiastic energy of creatives should be honed rather than ignored. Bleszinski could help the franchise he created to find new ground and be introduced to newer audiences. Xbox is sleeping on Gears of War because its focus on streaming will harm what is left of small original franchises.
