Dwayne Johnson, being a board member of TKO, introduced some stipulations to the match against the American Nightmare. However, karma hit him back fast as Cody Rhodes created headlines by pulling off a Will Smith.
What led Cody Rhodes to recreate Will Smith’s Oscar moment with The Rock?
The entertainment world was shocked when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars stage for a joke on Jada Pinkett Smith. It became one of the most iconic moments in the recent past. However, WWE fans got to experience something similar when Cody Rhodes retaliated with a heavy slap when The Rock went a bit too much on his family.
During an intense verbal back and forth (via WWE) between Roman Reigns, Dwayne Johnson, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes, the situation got heated up with each passing minute and each brutal insult by The People’s Champion. But all hell broke loose when the Black Adam actor went way ahead of his limit and called Cody Rhodes a mistake in his family. The Rock’s exact words were:
“Isn’t it true that you are the youngest of the three (siblings). And isn’t it true that your sister was a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. And isn’t it true that your brother is a Hall of Famer, a future Hall of Famer? And you’re twenty years younger than your siblings, is that right? You know why? Because you were a mistake.”

Rhodes could not hold back his rage and whacked Dwayne Johnson across the face, and the episode immediately went off-air. It looks like karma hit the Brahma Bull like a bus, who slapped the Stardust during the WrestleMania XL Kickoff. Cody Rhodes stated in that event that Roman Reigns’ and Johnson’s ancestors “would be ashamed” of them, which enraged The Rock.
Did The Rock cross the line by jeopardizing Cody Rhodes’ WWE career?
The fans claim that the ongoing story is one of the most well-written stories yet. Dwayne Johnson has left no chance to humiliate Cody Rhodes even dragging the latter’s dog in the feud.
