This comes after the most recent episode of the series, i.e. episode 9, Consequences. Not only did this shocker addition deliver perfectly through its actions and magnificent storyline, but it further made fans look all the more forward to the season finale. That being said, TOKYO VICE EPISODE 9 SPOILERS AHEAD!

Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 9 was the Epitome of Perfection!

With a new episode every week, the Ansel Elgort-starrer series continues to leave fans baffled.

While episode 8 The Noble Path of the currently ongoing season 2 was widely hailed as the greatest episode of the series until last week, this week’s episode, i.e. episode 9 seems to have surpassed even that masterpiece in greatness.

Following the harrowing events of the previous episodes, this recent episode titled Consequences showed Elgort’s Jake Adelstein and Ken Watanabe‘s Hiroto Katagiri edging further closer to gaining the upper hand over Tozawa and taking them down, once and for all.

Meanwhile, while Sho Kasamatsu’s Sato takes on the responsibility of the leader of the Chihara-Kai, Rachel Keller’s Samantha Porter’s struggle to garner funds for her club continues. But that isn’t all: A lot more has happened in the series.

We warn you once again: There are serious Season 2 Episode 9 spoilers ahead of Tokyo Vice.

To summarise the events: Sato tries to unite the yakuza clans against Tozawa but comes to realize that he has failed after learning that the Ichikawa clan has already sided with his opponent. Then there’s Funaki, who finally confesses, after Katagiri’s brutal confrontation, that he was actually blackmailed into being Tozawa’s mole.

In the meanwhile, Tin Tin confronts Tozawa’s doctor and learns about his liver disease while investigating his medical records. On the other hand, Jake and Trendy discover through Trendy’s American friend Jason that Tozawa had actually started being a criminal FBI informant about 1.5 years before the events happening in Consequences, which literally connects a lot of the dots.

Then, in a shocking turn of events, a Tozawa yakuza shows up and stabs Tin Tin thrice in his abdomen on the street, presumably after Tozawa’s doctor informed him about it. This inevitably left the message that Jake, Tin Tin, and Meicho needed to stop their investigation unless they wished for more bloodshed to prevail.

While Tin Tin lives but is shown in the ICU, the headquarters of the Chihara-Kai get infiltrated by Tozawa assassins. In a violent shootout that follows, only Sato and Gen are able to escape, essentially becoming the last remaining living members of the Chihara-Kai. Then there’s Eimi who confronts Baku as she suspects him of starting the fire at Meicho (which turns out to be untrue).

Further shocking events then show Tozawa catching Misaki and Samantha outside of Jake’s apartment, but they are able to flee to the same hideout where Sato and Jake seem to be hiding. On the other hand, Yabuki is arrested by Katagiri and Nagata by setting Funaki up as bait, eventually gaining leverage against Tozawa.

Last but not least, Tozawa’s wife Kazuko shows up to do something extraordinarily surprising: She offers Katagiri all the evidence he needs to pull down Tozawa once and for all by claiming she could provide him with access to the Yoshino yacht where all the evidence is present.

Thus, with all these events having fans in their grip, Tokyo Vice now has fans holding real tight for the season finale.

Although Tokyo Vice had a rocky start — considering Rotten Tomatoes’ critics’ consensus claiming that the series’ “protagonist is its least interesting element” — this recent episode seems to be changing all of those opinions.
