The April Fool’s release co-op horror title Content Warning has been a smash hit among players as they record their friends in scary situations to rake in views and get famous on SpookTube. The developer revealed yesterday that after being free for 24 hours, the game was downloaded by more than 6.2 million people.

Content Warning has recorded an all-time peak of over 200k concurrent players and is still going strong, with more than 40k people in-game at the time of writing. While the performance of the game is impressive, there is one feature missing from the game that’s holding it back from being its absolute best.

Content Warning Is Short of One Very Important Feature

Players want one much-needed feature in Content Warning.

Content Warning allows 2-4 player co-op and tasks players with going to a scary location where they have to film their friends in scary situations. After they succeed in filing footage that will get them good views, they must escape from the area and upload it to SpookTube.

While it sounds quite easy, it is not. The players, while running from a situation, can die or somehow lose the camera, losing the filmed footage. A player took to X/Twitter and said that they have only one issue with the game that they would like to see addressed with the next update.

The player said that the camera should “retain the footage” if the camera is lost while running or a player dies. However, it can be found by anyone, being labeled “Found Footage,” and the original player who filmed it does not get the credit if it is uploaded on SpookTube.

Now this does sound like it could affect the game in a good way, possibly making the title like Paranormal Activity but in gaming. In a reply to the player, a user said that if one loses the camera, they can find it during a “subsequent run” and get the footage and upload it as normal footage. Perhaps the “complaint” by the player will be addressed with the next update in Content Warning.

Landfall Games Is Already Bringing in New Content to the Game

The game has already received its first patch, two days after release.

With the announcement of the game’s downloads and player base, the developer also said that it would be bringing more things to the game once it is done sorting out all the bugs and other issues in the game. Since then, Landfall Games has already launched a patch update that has brought new items and bug fixes to Content Warning.

The new items include a reporter microphone, a sounds player, and a party popper. A projector has been added to the garden. Moreover, the developer has also adjusted the prices of emotes in the game, added an inverted mouse setting, fixed the issue of disk duplicating if the players pick it at the same time, and decreased hard drive usage for recordings in the game.

The developer is also currently working on fixing issues such as problems with voices, connection and hosting issues, camera footage not extracting, and sometimes camera footage not being visible. These problems are expected to be fixed when the next patch update arrives.
