After Steam hits like Helldivers 2 and Palworld, the latest one to join the list is the Lethal Company-style co-op horror game Content Warning from Landfall Games, and it has been the talk of the town for the past two days now. The game was released on April 1, 2024, and is already a huge success.
Content Warning is a 2-4 player co-op where players are tasked with filming their friends in scary situations and uploading it to a fictional platform called “SpookTube.” Then players need to wait for it to rake in views and get famous. This premise is loved by the players, and the numbers show it.
Content Warning Is the Latest Steam Hit
Content Warning sees players team up and go to a new scary location, record a scary clip with their friends in it, upload it on SpookTube, and wait for the views. This has impressed the fans, as the game has done very well since its release.
The game was available for free on Steam for the first 24 hours as the developer celebrates Landfall Day and does “something special” for the fans. It garnered nearly 8k reviews and an “overwhelmingly positive” user review rating.
Content Warning is now paid after getting claimed for free by over 6 million players! 🎉
The last 24h have been a wild ride to say the least, never did we imagine that we would get over 200K concurrent and over 6.2 MILLION owners of the game in 24h – THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! pic.twitter.com/D8O2G5XzV8

According to the developer, Content Warning has been claimed by more than 6 million players for free, with more than 200k all-time peak concurrent players. The game is currently owned by more than 6.2 million people, and more than 67k players are currently in the game at the time of writing.
Moreover, the game was in the top 10 most played games on Steam in the first 24 hours, and despite now coming to the 15th spot, it is still above titles like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Call of Duty, and Baldur’s Gate 3. The game has now gone paid and costs $7.99 for those who were unable to claim it during the free promotion period, and those who have claimed it can keep it forever.
Played Are Having a Great Time With the Game and Have Suggestions for the Devs
Players replied to the developer’s post about the game and said that they loved it and had been playing with their friends, and they suggested a few things that the developer should potentially bring into the game to keep it going.
One player said that an objective should be added to the mission, and the developer has stated that once it’s done with the “most pressing bugs,” it will work on it. Landfall Games has also said that it has “arachnophobia mode” on its list, and it may be added to the game in the future.
We probably won't make our own social media within the game 🙏 but we might add something else 👀

Despite players asking for “community Spooktube,” the developer said that it has no plans to add one but teased that someone else will be coming to the game. Moreover, mods allowing more people to join a game would also be coming once the bugs are sorted.
Some other suggestions that players had for the game include a VR mode, a larger lobby size, and new content featuring more cameras, flashlights, monsters, enemies, and other things. Are you playing the April Fools-winning title Content Warning? Let us know in the comments.
