The Boys, created by Eric Kripke, is one of the biggest television shows to premiere on Amazon Prime in the last few years. The series caught the fancy of viewers, as it offered a unique twist to the lives of superheroes. More specifically, heroes when they go rogue.

The show rose to great popularity and much of its success can be attributed to Kripke’s vision. And now, he has a bold update ahead of the fourth season.

Eric Kripke, the creator of The Boys, made a bold prediction about his show

Eric Kripke‘s The Boys is a satirical take on the lives of superheroes. He adapted it for the small screen from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic book of the same name.

The show takes elements from the comic book, as a team of vigilantes hunts down superheroes who abuse their superpowers. Unfortunately, there are quite a few who do just that.

The story was initially adapted to be a feature film, but it was stuck in limbo for years before Cinemax picked it up in 2016 and handed the reins to Kripke. With a star-studded lineup, such as Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, and others, the showrunner delivered each time.

Kripke recently took to social media to share an exciting update about the upcoming season of the show. He stated that the work on the new season was complete, and he has faith that it might be their best season yet.

The showrunner is very optimistic, and possibly for good reason too. The series has become a huge hit with the masses, and fans keep turning up in droves as the story progresses with each new season.

What do we know about The Boys season 4 so far?

The third season ended with a bang, and the finale exceeded all expectations. The team is barely alive after the explosive events shown throughout the season that culminate at the end, with The Boys crossing over with Gen V.

Kripke sat down for an interview with Variety last year. The show creator spoke of where the new season will pick up, and the general direction the show will head in. He also sounded a warning to the audience.

“In our minds, it’s only a couple of days after whatever the events are of “Gen V.” We try to keep the timeline super simple because all that folding-in-on-itself timeline stuff that I think other comic book universes find themselves having to do is just bewildering for me as a viewer. So it’s all very modular. It’s like there’s Season 3 of “The Boys,” and then after that “Gen V” takes place, and then after that “The Boys” Season 4 takes place. And then after that, “Gen V” Season 2 takes place. It’s all more like cars on a train than it is a plate of spaghetti,” he said.

In an unfortunate turn of events, one of the show’s leads, Chance Perdomo, died in a motorcycle accident recently. His absence will be felt acutely when the show returns.

Kripke’s show is available to stream on Prime Video, and the new season will be out on June 13.
