Why has the River Ward Side Quest been Mocked By Players, and how has it Been Fixed in Cyberpunk 2077?

With the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update River Ward’s quest gets a major update.

When Cyberpunk 2077 was released back in 2020, it was sadly plagued with so many bugs and issues that many fans of the game were dissatisfied with the game upon release, but for those who stuck with it and pushed through the issues, they came across the side quest related to River Ward and received a rather humorous end that took many by surprise.

As players progress through the story of Cyberpunk 2077, they will notice the dark and gritty story around them as they explore Night City, which will lead players to the River Ward side quest. Once players complete this series of side quests, they will receive a message from Joss Kutcher, who is River Ward’s sister, and this message has an image that raises a lot of eyebrows for players.

Above is the old image that used to be used within River Ward’s side quest.

In the original ending to this series of side quests the player would receive an image from Joss Kutcher which showed River Ward and Joss Kutcher in a hospital room along with their children and their newly found son thanks to the player finding them, but the eye raiser is the fact that this image is very clearly photoshopped and what made it worse is that this image was badly photoshopped to include River Ward in the image, which caused many players to chuckle at a very serious moment.

Now, after the new Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, players are happily surprised that this image has now been changed to a completely new one that looks ten times better than the original, as River Ward is now dressed in casual clothing rather than what he wears once the players meet him and is actually involved in the image, and it looks more personal for the character.

That being said not all players are happy with this change as there are some who felt it should of stayed the same way, but this goes to show how much effort CD Projekt Red has put into this update as they have changed even the smallest of details within the game to make it better for players who have been a part of the community since day one.
