With an underwhelming performance at the box office, Johnson’s film has received a plethora of negative reviews. Director S.J. Clarkson, who is at the helm of the project, revealed in an interview with GamesRadar+ that she wanted to be “honorable of the comics and where she came from”.

“We wanted to be honorable of the comics and where she came from. And I think that every hero has a moment where their mentor or someone important to them gives them a line which inspires them on the way, and this felt like a nod to where she was from while also making it hers.”

Well, to lift the curtain, the line that Dakota Johnson’s character of Madame Web said was:

“When you take on the responsibility, great power will come.”

In a separate interview, the Fifty Shades of Grey actor revealed her experience while working on a blue screen. The actress revealed that her experience was ‘psychotic’.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dakota Johnson talked about her experience working on a blue screen. Talking about fake explosions and her trust in director S.J. Clarkson, Johnson hoped that she acted well in the scenes.

“I trusted her so much. I’ve never really done a movie where you are on a blue screen, and there’s fake explosions going off, and someone’s going, ‘Explosion!’ and you act like there’s an explosion. That to me was absolutely psychotic.”

She further continued,

“I was like, ‘I don’t know if this is going to be good at all! I hope that I did an okay job!’ But I trusted her. She works so hard, and she has not taken her eyes off this movie since we started.”

Well, Dakota Johnson’s 2024 movie premiered with a low score of 3.8/10 on IMDB and a whopping low of 17% on Rotten Tomatoes. The 2024 movie is currently screening in theaters around the world.
