The iconic character of James Bond has always had hair with a brown-blackish complexion. Therefore, it was quite a surprise when Daniel Craig was cast as Agent 007 despite having blonde hair. The actor once even revealed in an interview that he was even asked to dye his color brown by the producers of Casino Royale but he turned it down. He said,

“I was asked to dye my hair brown to play this role but it was out of the question. I suggested instead that I could cut my hair really short to create a more brutal appearance.”

However, it seems like the not dyeing his hair rule was only for James Bond movies as Daniel Craig went on to bleach his hair when he had to portray the role of Joe Bang in the comedy heist movie in 2017, Logan Lucky.

Daniel Craig had an important role to play in Steven Sodenbergh’s Logan Lucky and the actor went all in to make his character’s persona flawless. As the director of the movie once revealed in an interview with GQ magazine, it was Craig’s own idea to bleach his hair and get tattoos for his character, Joe Bang in the movie. He said,

“He really had carte blanche to build this character any way he wanted. I said to him, ‘I don’t care how you look. I don’t care how you sound. And you don’t have to do any press if you don’t want to.’ Because I know that going on the Bond press tour is, for him, harder than doing the movie…So the ideas would come in in dribs and drabs. ‘Here’s some tattoos. Here’s my haircut. I’m working with a dialect guy.’ Then he showed up with it; he was ready.”
