Daniel Radcliffe in an interview with Access opened up about having an awkward encounter with Tom Cruise‘s ex-wife, Katie Holmes during his Broadway musical. In his revival musical, he did a certain performance by imitating the Top Gun actor’s infamous couch jump scene.
However, his fun moment turned into regret when he heard that his then-wife was in the audience seat to witness the revival theatrical show.
“I got very, very paranoid that night because she was in the audience and I did it and the audience reaction wasn’t nearly as much as it normally is and I was like, ‘Oh man, they all know she’s here’ and they’re like, ‘Wow, this is really awkward!’”
However, it was “good” in the end. While he became “paranoid” on hearing her presence in the audience, he was happy that his audience enjoyed the act. However, Cruise’s couch act was the major highlight for a while.
What Was Tom Cruise’s Infamous Couch Jump Incident?
Back in 2005, the Mission: Impossible star made an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show and left out becoming an Internet joke. At the time, he declared his love for his then-girlfriend and future wife on national television but in a unique way.
He jumped on Oprah’s couch before Oprah said, “He’s gone. He’s gone. The boy is gone.”
The whole drama continued to stay in the limelight for years making the biggest star of Hollywood become the biggest Internet joke at the time.
As for the A-lister’s relationship, they quickly fell for each other, got engaged, and even welcomed their first kid, Suri in 2006. Soon after their daughter’s arrival, they decided to tie the knot the same year. However, their relationship ended in 2012. After their split, Holmes received full custody of their daughter, meanwhile, Cruise got visitation rights.
