Tom Holland’s Next Potential Role Is Raising A Few Eyebrows Among Netizens

Being a teenager at the time of his debut Spider-Man appearance made Tom Holland a perfect candidate to portray the popular Marvel superhero. The original animated series in Nickelodeon followed the story of a teenager who, after an accident with a portal between the human world and the ghost zone, becomes a hybrid of the two universes. Following this information about Holland’s potential involvement, fans began to question the age factor between the actor and the character.

With Danny Phantom being 14 years old in the original show, netizens believed that it would be virtually impossible for the Spider-Man: Homecoming star to portray someone that young when he was on the other side of his 20s.

While the general consensus on social media is that Holland will definitely not fit into this role due to his age, it remains to be seen if the production house confirms this information in the near future, and if the actor is up for the challenge.

While there has not been any concrete update on this front, the British star confirmed back in June 2023 that he was in definite talks with the franchise regarding Spider-Man 4, but refrained from committing to any details. In an interview with Variety, Holland also commented on the Actors Strike and its impact on this decision and said,

“I can’t talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.”

With Holland’s Spider-Man being one of the most popular characters in the MCU as well as gaining huge popularity in the standalone films, Marvel buffs will hope that the actor can bring more to the character through a 4th film. Till date though, it is still status quo with no further information from the Marvel camp regarding details about the project.
