Back in the days when Marvel was mostly about the movies, there used to be a small group of superheroes who made their mark on the online streaming platforms. Before Marvel started releasing tons of series after Avengers: Endgame, Netflix kicked off the superhero series business with Daredevil back in 2015. After that, a lot of series revolving around multiple superheroes were released on Netflix which would later be known as The Defenders-Verse.

Daredevil kicked off Netflix’s Defender-Verse
Drew Goddard’s Daredevil series which followed the story of a blind lawyer who uses his heightened senses to fight off crime on the streets of New York at night was what kicked off the Defenders saga of Marvel. Charlie Cox played the role of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and the series quickly gathered positive reviews from fans and critics.
Daredevil set the foundation for the rest of the series of the Defender Saga to be released and even before the release of the series The Defenders, the characters and references in the series of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist used to link a lot to each other.

Although the series of the Defender-verse were chronologically released in their right order, it might get confusing for someone who starts watching the series’ today and goes to complete the whole series in one go, there might be parts and characters that they most probably will not understand. Also, one should not skip any seasons or episodes while watching the series as the plot might go on to become something very relevant later in the bigger picture of things.
The correct order to watch the series of Defender-Verse
As the MCU continued to grow and not even one of the characters from The Defenders saga showed in the movies, fans were getting worried that our beloved superheroes would probably just stay overshadowed by the heroes in the movies. However, when Matt Murdock appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer, fans saw a glimmer of hope that the heroes of the Defenders saga will probably one day link up with the rest of the superheroes of the universe. Disney decided to add all the shows of the Defenders verse to Disney+ recently which might be a hint that they might be included in the main universe of MCU soon enough.
Therefore the correct order to watch the series of the Defenders Verse is as follows:
- Daredevil Season 1
- Jessica Jones Season 1
- Daredevil Season 2
- Luke Cage Season 1
- Iron Fist Season 1
- The Defenders
- The Punisher Season 1
- Jessica Jones Season 2
- Luke Cage Season 2
- Iron Fist Season 2
- Daredevil Season 3
- The Punisher Season 2
- Jessica Jones Season 3
