The Walking Dead is one of the most adored series, in current times. Having extremely immersive plots as well as well-written characters and impressive world-building, it is no surprise that the series has a huge following. This is resulted in many actors wanting to be a part of it in any way whatsoever. During an interview with Empire, Dave Bautista confessed to being one of these actors, however, he may have been more dedicated than most.

The actor revealed that he really wanted to be a part of this franchise in any role possible. This included him offering to play a zombie, and settling for a smaller part, as long as it meant that he would be part of the franchise. He even went as far as to offer to do this job for free, simply because he wanted to be a part of it.

One would assume that after seeing the dedication of Dave Bautista, the producers and creators of the project would have settled and given him a part in the series. This, however, was not the case at all, as the actor revealed to Empire that he was rejected and they refused to give him the part, or any part for that matter.

They said, ‘You’re too big!’”

What made this all the worse, was the reason that he was given when they rejected him, as it was something he could not have changed or improved upon. He was told that they would not be able to give him a role in the series because he was simply too big. Elaborating on this, Bautista revealed that the reason why this was a problem, was the fact that they thought that he was too big to play a zombie.
