David Harbour is an impressive actor who is yet again back in the based on a true story, video-game flick Gran Turismo. While the movie has so far received mixed reviews, although more good than bad ones, Harbour’s character is being praised for its authenticity and charm. It is his role that helps make the movie what it is, a story of a die-hard effort of an underdog trying to find his passion and prove himself to a skeptical world.
Once again proving that he is an outstanding performer with the Video Game movie, the Marvel star recently sat down with Fandom Wire to talk about the movie and also revealed what Video Game universe would he love to be a part of next.
David Harbour Wants To Be Part Of $4 Billion Video Game Franchise After Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo for years has been a source of fun and inspiration for many. A highly acclaimed video game series, it has also inspired real-life events and competitions including the GT Academy, which is part of the movie. Based on a real-life story, the movie is being praised for perfectly capturing the essence of the game as well as portraying the true story of Jann Mardenborough.
David Harbour essays the role of Marderborough’s coach, bringing the much-needed gravitas to the movie while also keeping his portrayal authentic. Although it is no surprise, Harbour once again proved that he is an exceptional actor. Now after trying his hand at this racing flick, Harbour expressed that he would love to be a part of the extremely famed and influential $4 billion video game franchise, Legend of Zelda. In an exclusive interview with Fandom Wire, the actor remarked,
“I think I’d like to put the Triforce back together and to finally save Zelda. Find her and save her. You know, like I was always the Link I was born to be.”
While nothing has been confirmed yet about whether there would be a movie or not, rumors have been floating around for a long time and perhaps David Harbour could finally get to be the Link he was ‘born to be’ after his feat in Gran Turismo.
David Harbour Finds Gran Turismo Very Relatable
Gran Turismo is a real-life story of how Jann Mardenborough became a real racer through participating in the Nissan-sponsored GT academy. But his path was riddled with challenges, the biggest came from his parent’s skepticism about his choice of career. It was something that even the acclaimed actor David Harbour went on during his early years as an actor.
In the interview with Fandom Wire, he remarked,
“I was in the same position. Acting as a profession is not something that I think parents jump for joy that their child is going to go into… My parents had no understanding of it… They were very skeptical and wanted me to just get a job… And I was dead set on this thing and I think so, I’m very much related to Jann and Jann’s father.”
And it isn’t Harbour who finds the movie relatable, for despite being a ‘video-game’ movie, it serves as an inspiring reminder to everyone that anything is achievable as long as you try your best.
Gran Turismo is in theatres now.
