Johnson lost his father to a cardiac arrest and three years after his sudden passing, the Jumanji star has a lot of regrets since their relationship was somewhat complicated. As he wished his late father, the Rock also mentioned how he often thinks of him and the many valuable lessons he has taught him.
Dwayne Johnson Is Regretful After Dad’s Tragic Passing
Rocky Johnson aka Wayde Douglas Bowles was also a professional wrestler and a WWE Hall of Famer. He tragically passed away at the age of 75 in 2020, and his son Dwayne Johnson has often expressed the regret he has felt after not being able to say goodbye or meet him one last time.
While their relationship was complicated, Johnson harbors deep love and respect for his father and shared a video of him giving a eulogy at his father’s memorial service. Captioning the deeply emotional video, he wrote,
“Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad. Rough day yesterday, but forced me to search for those silver lining blessings – that you realize, if look hard enough, those silver linings are usually right there in front of you on the hardest of days.”
He further added,
“Days are tough, life is hard. Get used to it. He’d always say, ‘a day without pain is like a day without sunshine.’ I think about you often. The lessons. The stuff.”

Dwayne Johnson Wishes He Had ‘One More Shot’
The Black Adam star was on his way to work when he received the call of his father’s passing, and thus never got the chance to tell his father that despite his father’s ‘tough love’, he truly admired and loved him. In the eulogy video he added to his Instagram, Johnson stated,
“Man, I wish I had… wish I had one more shot. Wish I had one more shot, you know, just to say goodbye, say I love you, say thank you, say I respect you. But you know, I have a feeling he’s watching, he’s listening.”
As he became emotional and broke down several times, Johnson stated that it wasn’t a goodbye but rather a ‘see you down the road’. The poignant yet touching footage not only shows the love he has for his father but also resonates deeply with his fans from all over the world.
