DC Writer Did Not Like Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984

Gal Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman in 2016’s Superman vs Batman: Dawn Of Justice, and instantly became a fan favorite with her stunning good looks that were a perfect fit for the character. She followed up this appearance with the standalone film Wonder Woman in 2017, which became a big hit, while also serving as a boost to the franchise after the failure of its earlier films.

Gadot’s sequel titled Wonder Woman 1984, did not receive the same kind of responses from critics and audiences when compared to the first film, despite the actor once again turning in a good performance. Famed DC writer Grant Morrison was also of the same opinion and spoke to CBM regarding his views on the sequel.

“I did enjoy the first Wonder Woman movie. Gal Gadot was an engaging lead, operating past the edge of her acting abilities with such purity and determination you can see her talent blossom onscreen, it was impossible not to root for her. The second film didn’t work for me at all.”

Morrison went on to state that Gal Gadot’s appearance and introduction as Wonder Woman in Superman vs Batman: Dawn Of Justice with an inspiring Hans Zimmer score in the background, was the character’s most iconic moment on screen.

Will Gal Gadot Be Seen In Wonder Woman 3?

Following a complete reboot of the DC franchise by James Gunn which included the shocking exit of Henry Cavill as Superman, there has been a lot of speculation on the future of other major DC characters including Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. In an interview with Flaunt Magazine during the middle of this year, the Heart of Stone star seemed to indicate that there was a definite possibility of making Wonder Woman 3.

“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”

Sources inside DC though, have hinted that nothing of this nature was promised to the Red Notice star, and that Wonder Woman 3 isn’t on the cards at the moment. There has been no further information that has corroborated either side’s statement as yet. The ball is now in James Gunn’s court, and time will tell if the DC head will push Wonder Woman up his agenda.
