Have you ever wondered what the zombie apocalypse would look like on a paradisiacal island? Now is your chance: To celebrate the newly announced Dead Island 2 launch on Steam, Dead Island: Riptide – Definitive Edition is currently available for free. But you have to act fast! Deep Silver is running the promotion only until tomorrow, February 15.
After launching on the Epic Games Store and consoles last year, the sequel to the 2011 zombie FPS is getting ready to lurch onto Valve’s platform on April 22. To tide fans of the zombie games over, the publisher slashed the prices of previous titles in the series.
You Can Get Dead Island: Riptide for Free Right Now
The best deal comes with Dead Island: Riptide – Definitive Edition being completely free on Steam. As announced in a post on the platform, Deep Silver has dropped the original price of the title from $19.99 to $0.00, allowing fans to join the bloody carnage without paying a cent.
The game is free to keep, meaning you can download it at no cost right now and won’t have to worry about losing the game or having to pay for it down the line. But you need to grab it fast. The publisher is running this scarily good deal for only 48 hours, which is already counting down at the time of writing. You can download the game for free until tomorrow, February 15.
Riptide was developed by Techland and released in 2013 as a story expansion for the original 2011 game, with the remastered Definitive Edition launching in 2016 with improved graphics.
Set on a fictional island in the Banoi archipelago, it picks up where the first game left off. All four survivors and a new character join forces once again to hack and slash their way through hordes of undead with a drop-dead-gorgeous backdrop of a tropical island that has gone to hell.
Publisher Celebrates Dead Island 2 Steam Launch With More Promotions
If gory zombie slaying with a generous helping of humor is your jam, you are in for a treat. Publisher Deep Silver is going all out to celebrate the upcoming launch of Dead Island 2 on Valve’s platform by massively discounting the other games in the series.
Anyone who wants to re-experience the first game can now get the remastered Definitive Edition of the 2011 original at an 85% discount for $2.99 instead of the usual $19.99.
The price for the side-scrolling 16-bit beat-em-up Dead Island Retro Revenge has been slashed as well and is now just $1.24, down from $4.99.
With these promotions, there is a lot for seasoned zombie slashers to sink their teeth into ahead of the sequel’s launch on Valve’s platform. Will you act fast and grab any of the available promotions while they last? Tell us in the comments!
