Ever since Ryan Reynolds made the announcement of Hugh Jackman being a part of Deadpool 3, where he will be returning to reprise his iconic role of Wolverine one more time, fans have gone wild. The excitement double-folded when a picture from the set of the film was shared on social media, where Hugh Jackman was seen wearing the yellow Wolverine suit that was featured in the animated show and X-Men comic books.

The image was immensely detailed, but that did not catch the attention of the fans, as they noticed something peculiar about the weapons the character possessed. One of them indicated the return of an iconic character in the Multiverse Saga of the MCU.
Deadpool 3 Teases The Return of Jennifer Garner As Elektra in The MCU
Jennifer Garner, who portrayed the role of Elektra Natchios in the 2005 film, Elektra, was met with immense praise and appreciation, as she infused the role with an energetic approach. Though the film was a commercial and critical failure, fans enjoyed watching Garner portray the iconic character from the Daredevil universe.
A recent post which was shared by a reliable scooper (@MyTimeToShineH), showcased Wolverine in his yellow X-Men suit, alongside a number of weapons. There were a number of weapons like ninja stars, katana, and arrows, but one of them caught the attention of the Marvel fans. It is none other than a Sai, which also happens to be the signature weapon of Elektra.
Though the scooper did not mention anything about Elektra, it had been previously reported that Jennifer Garner might return as Elektra in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While some fans were excited about the potential return of Garner in Deadpool 3, the news surely brought a hilarious response from the fans, as they tweeted on X.

The potential hint of Elektra’s Sai in Deadpool 3 has multiplied the excitement, as adding the Family Switch actress would add to the star power of the film. Not like the sequel is dependent on the star power of the film, but having another big name like Garner in the film would only add excitement to the film and make them look forward to watching the sequel even more.
Why Is It Believed That Deadpool 3 Would Change The History of The MCU?
As the days progress, bits and pieces of Deadpool 3 are released that add to the hype of the film. After Hugh Jackman was confirmed to be a part of the film, he was seen alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool on the set of the film. The Hitman’s Bodyguard actor teased that the Logan actor would have a bigger role in the film.
However, Marvel’s official Japan site has revealed a piece of unnerving synopsis detail that has concerned the fans, as it states “That f*cking irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine,” via ComicBookMovie.com. However, in a different synopsis provided by CBR, it stated that Deadpool is “having some professional setbacks” and a “midlife crisis” that adds to his problems until he decides to tag along with Wolverine.
“After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis, Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival but, ultimately, their legacy.”
While the official plot of Deadpool 3 remains a mystery, it is immensely intriguing to think about the potential plot of the film as each plotline is different in the Deadpool films.
Deadpool 3 is set to release in theatres on 26th July 2024.
