Deadpool is undoubtedly one of the most popular Marvel characters. Originally introduced as a supervillain in the Marvel comic book New Mutants #98 in December 1990, the character has become a favorite among fans over the years. Although talks of the development of a movie began in 2004, the character did not debut on the big screen until 2009 when Ryan Reynolds portrayed the Merc with a Mouth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

A solo Deadpool movie finally made its way into the world in 2016. The wait was definitely worth it for the eager fans who waited for it for ages as the vigilante impressed everyone with his fourth-wall-breaking humor. Now, with the third installment of the movie on the horizon, it is time for us to walk down memory lane to watch a throwback in which South Korean fans paid tribute to the character.

A Throwback at This Fan Tribute to the First Deadpool Movie

The development of Deadpool 3 alone has created so much buzz around the movie that fans can’t stop talking about it. Considering how long the wait has been for this third installment, fans of the antihero are bound to get excited regarding every new update that comes through. Part of the reason for the delay is Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox.

In 2016, ahead of the release of the first movie, the Taekwondo/urban dance group K-Tigers took to the streets to do a high-octane routine set to DMX’s X Gon’ Give It to Ya as a part of the South Korean marketing campaign.

The entire group of dancers was dressed in Deadpool hoodies and masks, except for one dressed up in the Marvel character’s popular red jumpsuit with the katanas he’s carrying crisscrossed over his back. They gave it their all as the crowd gathered around them watched in awe. The video posted on the dance group’s official YouTube channel has over 1.6 million views.

Needless to say, the video would even bring smiles to Ryan Reynolds and Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman’s faces. That being said, it is fascinating to see that fans are as excited about this movie as they were about the first one.

Besides marking the end of the trilogy, Deadpool 3 is also going to bridge the gap between the anti-hero and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it marks Ryan Reynolds’ debut in the franchise. The filming of the movie officially ended on January 24, 2024.

A synopsis of the movie made its way online through one of the international pages of Disney and Marvel. The Japanese Marvel website (as translated by The Direct), has revealed a look at a decidedly cryptic synopsis:

“The irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?”

It has to be noted that the translation might not be entirely correct and so, we can’t be too sure about what this synopsis means. Chances are that a longer synopsis will be released before the movie’s debut.
