Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia is right now delivering what could be the final battle of the series. In the previous chapter, Deku, the protagonist of the story tried his best to unlock Shigaraki’s memories and witnessed how bad his childhood was. In the process, he lost all the vestiges of One for All trying to break Shigaraki’s defense.
Deku not only hopes to win the battle against the antagonist, but he also wants to save Shigaraki. The latest My Hero Academia chapter 418 revealed the progress Deku was able to make trying to save Shigaraki. However, all of this progress might result in failure because of the return of All for One.
The chapter revealed that as Shigaraki was contemplating his actions, All for One made an entry into the vestige world and tried to take control of Shigaraki’s body by berating him and making him question his decisions. However, this act may not only affect Shigaraki but Deku as well, as it may force Deku to witness the final battle from the sidelines.
All for One Appears in The Vestige World
In chapter 418 of My Hero Academia, the conflict between Tomura Shigaraki and Izuku Midoriya, or Deku, continued. Deku could be seen frantically attempting to put an end to Shigaraki’s rampage. The chapter begins with Deku observing Tenko on the edge of performing a horrible act, powerless to stop the impending bloodshed.
But Deku manages to transform himself into a child-like version and ultimately catches Tenko’s hand to stop his quirk from destroying everything. Although he faces the effects of Tenko’s power, Deku refuses to let go and talks to him about how he is not alone and all of this leads to Tenko questioning his past actions.
However, as he is about to change, All for One enters Shigaraki’s consciousness as a vestige and insults him for changing his nature just because of Deku. This could lead to All for One taking over Shigaraki’s body and using it for his own purpose.
Deku Could Be Pushed to the Sidelines For the Final Battle
Things might take a different turn for Deku now that All for One, one of the major opponents, has joined the fight. There is a good probability that Deku will be pushed to the sidelines, with all of the One for All vestiges appearing to oppose All for One. Although this is unlikely as Deku is the main protagonist, there are a few reasons that could possibly make this happen.
The first reason for putting Deku on the sidelines could be that he is currently quirkless, and his presence in combat would simply slow others down. He lost all of his powers and vestiges during his attempt to break Shigaraki’s defense. Although it did help him change Shigaraki’s mind, his quest blew up in his face.
Also, one other reason is as My Hero Academia fans know, One for All’s first user Yoichi Shigaraki is the brother of All for One. If he and the other vestiges who have been trying to defeat All for One for so long end up defeating the antagonist, it will bring a full circle moment to the story of My Hero Academia.
