In the anime and the manga she was shown as an adult woman but her age was later revealed to be 12 years old which she was hiding with the powers of her devil fruit. As there were some debatable scenes in the series, the real age of the characters made them more and more controversial.

However, One Piece is not alone in this move of hiding a character’s age and depicting them as much older than they already are. Another anime that shares a similar connection with One Piece in this regard is Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotouge’s magnum opus, and one of the biggest anime series in the world. The character that has suffered this fate is Daki, one of the main antagonists of the Entertainment District Arc.

Daki’s Real Age in Demon Slayer

Daki was one of the main adversaries in Demon Slayer’s Entertainment District arc. She was a demon who belonged to the Twelve Kizuki and had the secondary position of Upper-Rank Six, which she shared with her older brother Gyutaro. Before becoming a demon, Daki lived in the Yoshiwara neighborhood, and her appealing appearance made her one of the most desired individuals in the area.

However, a swift turn of circumstances caused her to stab a samurai in the eye. The samurai killed her by burning her alive as payback. She was just thirteen years old at that time. She transformed into a demon moments later, and it is thought that when demons become immortal, their mental powers are stunted and do not increase.

Therefore, her real age should be 13 years even if she has been a demon for over 100 years. Her behavior in the series is quite similar to that of a 13-year-old child. However, physically she does not look 13 years old at all. In the anime and the manga series, she looks like a full-grown adult woman.

Daki And Jewelry Bonney Share a Connection

Both Daki and Bonney have been shown quite bigger and more physically mature for their original age. However, mentally both of them act like children. While Bonney’s immaturity and banter point out her real age, in the case of Daki, it is her arrogance and her relationship with her brother Gyutaro.

In the case of Bonney, she uses her devil fruit abilities to hide her real age and appear as a young woman in her twenties. But in Daki’s case, it is her changing herself into a demon permanently. However, in Daki’s case when she was turned into a demon, she should have looked like a child, but Muzan has the ability to alter the physical appearance of the demons which is probably what he did with Daki too.

While the chapter of Daki has been finished in Demon Slayer, Bonney is still fighting for her and her father Kuma’s life on Egghead island in One Piece, against the likes of Navy and Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, one of the five elders.
