Fans have gone wild ever since the rumors about the return of the original Avengers began spreading around the internet. The rumors claim that the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, plans to bring back the original Avengers for a movie in the MCU. So that means, the characters that were killed off earlier will be joining the universe once again.
Many sources have stated that Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johannsson will return as Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow respectively. Despite the hype, many people have pointed out that Feige is desperately attempting to revive the franchise’s popularity with this move. Unfortunately, Marvel is stuck due to actor Jonathan Majors’ public controversy and since the entire franchise is set up around his character, Kang the Conqueror, things are not looking good.
Is Kevin Feige bringing back the original Avengers?
Thanks to Variety‘s claims, over the past week, there have been some rumors spreading around claiming that the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, plans to bring back the original Avengers for a Marvel movie, which is expected to be Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). This means that Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johannsson, who left the franchise in 2019, will be rejoining it as their respective characters.
With the concept of multiverse, almost anything is possible in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some projects in Marvel’s Phase 5 have been a major disappointment for many fans but the upcoming miniseries, Echo, has created some hype with its brutal and violent visuals, and fans are also eagerly waiting for Deadpool 3 as Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine has created anticipation.
Is Kevin Feige being desperate?
Many fans on social media have labeled Feige as desperate for this move, mainly because the stories of these returning characters were summed up with 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, so their return would make no sense.
Bringing back the characters from Endgame sacrifices their choices. Why even do that?

If they’re multiverse versions, that makes sense. If it’s normal resurrection though, let’s not 😅

Actor Jonathan Majors has been embroiled in controversy due to allegations made against him. Due to these allegations, Marvel has been reportedly planning to replace Majors. There are also reports that the studio might completely get rid of his character and replace it with an entirely different villain.
As of now, Majors hasn’t been fired, but fans are worried that there will be an announcement soon. Apart from this, Marvel is also focused on Captain Marvel‘s (2019) sequel, The Marvels, which will be released in the United States on November 10, 2023
