The Dragon Ball franchise has entered the Dragon Ball Super series and although, initially the series created a stir with consecutive hits, it may have now deviated from the path. Set during the period of Akira Toriyama’s early Dragon Ball manga, it follows the exploits of Son Goku and his companions during the ten-year time skip following Majin Buu’s defeat. The Super saga is divided into seven arcs: God of Destruction Beerus arc, Universe 6 arc, “Future” Trunks arc, Tournament of Power arc, Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc, Granolah the Survivor arc, and Super Hero arc.

Currently, the series is in its Superhero arc, and as the story moves forward, the fans are not happy with the underwhelming continuation of Toriyama’s masterpiece. The manga has deviated from how it first adapted films in its early chapters, and how it is now covering the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

Dragon Ball Super Becomes Very Slow in Adaptation

Even with some of the more intriguing deviations, the most recent arc has yet to justify this irritating shift in to a slower version. The series began by instantly adapting events from the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, which had appeared a few years before. However, Dragon Ball Super has recently switched its fast-paced strategy for the vast portion of its current superhero narrative.

Although there have been a few small retcons, none of them justify the series spending more than seven months reshaping a plot that viewers have already seen. Last year, the manga for Dragon Ball Super began a unique prequel arc leading up to the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, following a teenage Goten and Trunks. But now the manga series has gone extremely slow on a point of the story which fans have already seen in the movie. The manga series has yet to reach the climax of the movie.

Can Dragon Ball Super Manga Get Back on Track?

There are times when the manga’s rendition of Super Hero entirely skips over movie information, which adds to the confusion when succeeding sequences match the film frame by frame. However, the series can still save itself and get back on track and for that, they only have one chance. The Beast form of Gohan is still left to be recreated in the manga series and that is probably one of the most anticipated events for the fans. If the creators design it perfectly, they may save the series and get back on track.

Gohan’s Beast transformation is awakened by intense hatred and was attained when the Saiyan half saw his teacher in danger while fighting Cell Max. This is the max level for Gohan and can very well save the entire series.
