Dragon Ball is one of the anime series that reign supreme in the world of anime. The fights in the series, and the story is arguably one of the main reasons that led to the widespread popularity of the series, helping it to become popular before the world of the internet. After Dragon Ball Z only Dragon Ball Super has created the most buzz. The show is full of memorable characters such as Son Goku, and Vegeta, but more importantly, it features some of the most iconic villains such as Cell, Majin Buu, Zamasu, Broly, and the most iconic of all Frieza.
When fans of the series think of Frieza, they reminisce about the climactic Battle on DBZ’s Frieza Saga on Planet Namek. Frieza was one of the biggest threats in the history of the series. He was not warrior-like, he was sneaky and not afraid to play dirty. In the latest chapter of the manga, the character returns with a new power laying down Goku and Vegeta in their ultimate forms.

Dragon Ball Super Flaunts Frieza’s New Found Strength
Frieza is one of the most ruthless characters of the Dragon Ball franchise, the character was responsible for destroying Planet Vegeta, and he laid waste to Planet Namek destroying everything and everyone who stood in his way. He had decided to hunt down the Dragon Balls of Planet Namek so that he could use the power of the dragon to make himself immortal.
The character does not refrain from playing dirty, as fans would remember when Goku defeated Frieza, he gave a fraction of his power to him so that could escape the dying planet. However, instead of fleeing he shot a ki blast at our protagonist when his back was turned, but Goku countered the ki-blast with a finishing move that seemingly killed him then.
Surprisingly, for a dirty fighter, Frieza was extremely strong, but what’s more shocking is that he achieved that strength without training once. Now, in chapter 87 of DBS, the character makes a dramatic return, and unveils how his training has bore fruit, as he has achieved a new form which he calls Black Frieza.
He now, not only flaunts his new form but showcases his power as he effortlessly defeats Goku and Vegeta, even in their Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego forms. Even though the series never showcased Frieza as the good guy who will defeat his enemies with honor now he is ready to go the extra mile, and improve himself rather than relying on dirty tricks. The Emperor of the Universe has finally understood the value of training from Son-Goku, and by being the strongest, he can satisfy not only his ego but also his plans, as he can take them down with little to no effort.
Akira Toriyama’s Genius Plan Made Dragon Ball The Most Renowned Anime of All Time
During an exclusive interview with Kanzeshuu, Akira Toriyama, the creator of the series, explained that he had initially decided to end the series “after they finished collecting the Dragon Balls,” and asked Shenron to fulfill their wishes. However, the artist explained that the series was not as popular as he initially wanted it to be, as the characters he started the story with were too plain for a fighting story. Hence, he decided to make some changes and before he knew it, Dragon Ball was a renowned series around the world.
“Up until the Tenka’ichi Budōkai began, the series hadn’t been all that popular. That’s what Torishima-san had told me. “Your protagonist is rather plain. That’s why it’s not popular.”, he said. Personally, since I was doing a fighting story for this series, I had intentionally made the protagonist’s clothing excessively plain. So this annoyed me, but then I figured it out. “Well, let’s increase its popularity,” I thought. I temporarily withdrew the other characters besides Goku, brought back Kame-Sen’nin, and added Kuririn as a new character. From there it got popular before I knew it.”
As the series became enormously popular, Toriyama decided to continue the story, often bringing new and iconic characters and villains. The series has become one of the most popular series ever created.
Dragon Ball Super can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
