Dwayne Johnson’s Exit From The Fast & Furious Franchise

The Rock debuted in the Fast & Furious franchise in the year 2011 with the movie Fast Five. He played the role of Luke Hobbs, a United States Diplomatic Service Security Agent, and a bounty hunter. Though Johnson’s character was loved by the audience, the star bid farewell to the series because of his feud with lead actor Vin Diesel. Johnson went online to express his dissatisfaction with Diesel while shooting the eighth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise. Though The Rock didn’t mention any name while revealing his frustration on Instagram, it was pretty obvious for the audience to guess the name – Vin Diesel.

“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a*ses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling—you’re right.”

He further added,

“Bottom line is it’ll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that’s embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on FAST 8 and I’ll finish strong.”

Rather than cutting his ties with the franchise completely, he took a step forward to acknowledge its goodness by naming his dog, Hobbs.
