Iconic trio of The Devil Wears Prada reunite at SAG Awards 2024
The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2024 was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on 24th February 2024. The Devil Wears Prada cast Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt reunited on-stage to present an award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
Streep took the stage alone and flustered, and announced that she had forgotten her glasses as well as the envelope that had the winner’s name in it. Hathaway and Blunt walked up to Streep with her glasses and the envelope giving a nod to their respective roles as her assistants from the movie.
Streep in order to present the nominees stated, ‘It’s an age old question, where does the character end and actor begins?’ To which Emily Blunt went ahead to say,
“Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins.”
After Streep disagreed Hathaway mentioned that it was not a question giving a subtle nod to one of the most icy lines of dialogue from the movie by Streep’s character. Emily Blunt who was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Oppenheimer added, ‘By all means move at a glacial pace.’
The movie upon its release garnered positive comments from the audience and critics and over the years, the love for the movie has only grown amongst fans. They always look for whatever reunion or some behind-the-scenes information the actors could provide because not only the trio is pretty much iconic but it’s fashion and three incredibly talented women star in it.
