Elder Scrolls 6 was announced at E3 2018 by game director Todd Howard as a ‘one more thing’ mic drop. Bethesda fans were quite excited about unreleased titles like Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls 6, even before the release of Starfield. Keeping transparency as their primary motive, Todd Howard decided it would be in the best interest of everyone to know that these games were coming, even if they hadn’t entered production yet.

In an interview with GQ, Todd Howard reflects upon his decision and how it might have impacted the development of Starfield. Todd Howard was asked about his thoughts regarding the early announcement of the Elder Scrolls 6, and he replied, “I don’t know. I probably would’ve announced it more casually.”

He adds furthermore, “It’s like… I don’t want to answer, but I want to be polite. I will say that we want it to fill that role of the ultimate fantasy-world simulator. And there are different ways to accomplish that given the time that has passed.”

Howard was rather honest with his answers. Even though Starfield took longer than expected to grace the gaming community with its arrival. However, for games like Fallout 5 and Elder Scrolls 6, players will have to wait at least a decade before they will be able to play this game. With how things are in the industry at this moment, the time might increase
