In dark fantasy stories, parents often use their children for the supposed greater good of the world. Gwin used his children to push the reign of fire forward, even if it was for just a few centuries. Tywin Lannister did something similar to his own kids, although he did care for them a bit. Something similar supposedly went on in Elden Ring too.

Queen Marika has been a sprawling figure of power in the Lands Between. Every person living in this world is living under her shadow and talks of her with high regard. But she was a ruthless leader and a relentless enemy, and she used her children the way she thought better, and that’s why some fans think that maybe she used Messmer in a very cruel manner.

Did Marika trap Messmer in Lands of Shadow in Elden Ring’s DLC?

Destined death is a big deal in the world of Elden Ring. The talk of the town is that it never existed long ago; gods and demigods never knew what it felt like when one died. This changed the night Godwyn the Golden was slain.

Ranni and her conspirators stole a part of the death rune and used it to build a weapon that delivered true death. Only they killed Godwyn’s spirit, and his form remained, and it spread through the roots of the Erdtree, giving birth to something called Deathroot.

Players everywhere know the kind of horror that this event has birthed in the hearts of residents of the Lands Between. They have a god’s corpse under their world, reminding them of the death that now awaits them all.

But why did destined death become such a strange concept to people before Godwyn’s death? Where did it go? Who built that death ruin that allowed for destined death? These questions hardly come into play in the tale of Elden Ring, and when they do, they are hardly answered.

But after watching the trailer for Elden Ring’s upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, it has become apparent for many that maybe this destined death comes from none other than Messmer. This guy looks scary, and he has everything that his line despises. He roams around with snakes on his body; he communes with the dragons; and he uses a blackened red flame that people can swear is destined death.

If one doesn’t know any better, one might say that Messmer is the god of death in this world, and Queen Marika once put him in the land of shadows to protect herself and her loved ones from the destined death. This theory comes from a Reddit user and avid Elden Ring player, ChristopherGorlami, and without a doubt, this theory holds some weight.

The truth is, it will only be out when this DLC comes out. Until then, fans are free to speculate and build their own theories.

Did Queen Marika also know the fate of Miquella?

One character that stays in the shadows at this very moment is none other than Miquella. He was born with a lot of issues, and his curse has left him in a childlike state since he was born. Even though he is very intelligent and dangerously powerful.

But at the moment, during the events of the game, he is supposedly trapped in Mohg’s palace, continuously being tormented by the blood lord. Did Marika allow for it? Or was this too part of her plan in some way?
