Starting with the 2018 film starring Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, A Quiet Place has flourished into a successful franchise with two films and an upcoming prequel spin-off, as well as a third installment. However, the latest updates surrounding the franchise have revealed that the latter has been delayed from its original release schedule.
The Oscar-nominated actress Blunt has shared that following in on the success of the 2020 sequel, they planned to develop the original film into a trilogy, which was originally expected to be released in 2025 but is facing delays in development.
Emily Blunt’s A Quiet Place: Part 3 Faces Development Delay
The post-apocalyptic horror film series A Quiet Place is set to further expand the universe inhabited by blind but sound-sensitive creatures with the upcoming film A Quiet Place: Day One. Directed by Michael Sarnoski, the upcoming film explores the chaotic inception of extraterrestrial invasion on Earth.
Along with A Quiet Place: Day One, the film series is also set to release a threequel to the original movie, titled A Quiet Place: Part 3, which was set to be released in 2025. However, according to a new update shared by Entertainment Weekly, the film is facing development hurdles and could potentially be delayed from its 2025 release timeline.
Discussions surrounding a third movie have been going on since the release of the 2020 sequel and John Krasinski officially announced A Quiet Place: Part 3 in 2022. Emily Blunt has also shared that they plan to develop a trilogy for the original film. “I think he just wanted to see how people responded to this one before he fully engaged his brain on the third one. But he has a couple of great ideas,” she said during an interview with Collider.
While no concrete details about its plot are available so far, the upcoming threequel is expected to follow humans’ attempt to fight back against the extraterrestrial creatures. Krasinski is expected to return to write and direct the threequel. Emily Blunt is also expected to reprise her role as Evelyn alongside Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. However, the return of Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou remains uncertain as of now.
Fans Disappointed With the A Quiet Place: Part 3 Delay
Fans of the Emily Blunt starrer franchise have taken to social media to share their disappointment with A Quiet Place: Part 3 delay. The film has reportedly been delayed indefinitely, and no potential release date for the threequel has been revealed yet.
Expressing their disappointment, fans also shared their expectations with the sequel and hoped to get some positive updates about the upcoming film. However, they also shared excitement for the upcoming spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One, stating that they are looking forward to it.
What a shame, I hope they come back to it whenever everyone is available. I’d like to see the story of the Abbot family finished. Fingers crossed 🤞 that Quiet Place Part 3 gets back on track soon.
