On Thursday, the news broke that Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller are soon to join the Diego Luna in Disney Plus’ upcoming series. The news, as mentioned earlier, means both the actor will appear in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spinoff series. The series focuses on Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor.Both actors are currently in their final negotiations, and their roles are under wraps as of now.
What would be the storyline of the Spinoff series?
The upcoming series of Star Wars will be a prequel to the film of Star Wars. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, will write major twists or sequences of the series. He will also be directing multiple episodes, as per the news. As we all know, in the final battle Cassian Andor and all the major characters get killed so that the show will focus on the early days of Rebellion against the Empire. Luna will be reprising his role as the lead Cassian Andor. Alan Tudyk will again return to accompany her as K-2SO.
Effects on the series and Skarsgard!
Earlier, it was announced that the Spinoff series would release in the year 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the production and filming dates are yet to be confirmed. Disney Plus has also started its preparation for other “Star Wars” series. Disney Plus is also looking forward to launching the second season of “The Mandalorian” and an “Obi-Wan” series.
However, for Skarsgard, after the massive success of “Chernobyl,” which even earned him an Emmy nomination, Star Wars would be a worthwhile challenge. He also played a significant role in one of HBO movies named “Brexit.”
