Dwayne Johnson, also known as ‘The Rock’, ran into a heated controversy recently when he made comments about the political climate and the diversity of political opinions among his friends in an interview with Joe Rogan.
During the conversation, commentator and podcaster, Joe Rogan shared his thoughts on how political affiliations have grown more divisive in the modern day and contrasted this with a more accepting mentality in the past. The conversation took an interesting turn when he questioned Johnson about whether or not he had friends who supported President Joe Biden. After making his initial claim that he had such friends, the Black Adam star quickly took it back and clarified that he has friends who are devoted to their own political beliefs rather than to particular political leaders.
Dwayne Johnson Changes His Statement About Having Friends Who Support Joe Biden
Dwayne Johnson recently spoke candidly about the current political climate and the divergent opinions of his friends on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. During the interview, Joe Rogan, 56, also expressed his thoughts about how the current era’s polarization of political affiliations differs from earlier times’ more accepting outlook. He shared:
“When I was a kid, you could have a Republican friend. It was no big deal. It’s no big deal. Like, oh, Bobby likes George Bush; Who cares? Who gives a f*ck? You know, you were a supporter of Bill Clinton; he liked George Bush.”
Rogan went on, saying that none of it had mattered before:
“Nobody cared. Nobody like ‘f*ck you.’ You know, it wasn’t like, ‘You’re a Nazi.’ Like, ‘I’m what?’ It wasn’t like, ‘You’re a Nazi.’ I just want lower taxes.”
When Rogan questioned The Rock about whether or not he actually had friends who supported President Joe Biden, the conversation took an interesting turn. The latter replied:
“I have friends who support Trump. I have friends who support Biden.”
This was somewhat surprising for Rogan, who again asked:
“Do you really have friends who support Biden?”
Johnson quickly retracted his earlier claim, emphasizing that he has friends who are devoted to their own political beliefs rather than specific political figures. In a prompt response, The Rock stated:
“I do… No, no. Here’s what I do. I have friends. Thank you. That’s a good check because that’s important. This is an important context. They support the Democratic Party. I have friends who are loyal to the party.”
The Sun earlier claimed that the Baywatch actor has considered a presidential run in the past. He chose not to pursue it, though, in order to prioritize his family—especially his daughters.

Being loyal to any party is a clown move.
Support individuals and ideas.

He knows he blew it with fans and has continued to backtrack each time he aligns with the wrong people.
Smell what the Rock is shoveling.

The Rock meanders whichever way the wind blows or wherever his PR handlers point. Like when he was a Rogan fan/friend until the wave built to (unsuccessfully) cancel Rogan, then Rock backtracked and weasel worded. Now that it’s safe, he’s back.

The Rock is always happy to go in the direction the wind blows. Doesn’t seem to have strong values
