The Razzies and the Oscars are the black and white of the film industry. While one signifies success in Hollywood, the other is infamous for recognizing the failures. Truth be told, both are necessary, although, most celebrities might dread being named at The Golden Raspberry Awards. It is worth noting that the parody awards are to be taken on a light-hearted note, and doesn’t authentically define the quality of a movie or star.

The 68-year-old actor and filmmaker’s nomination at the 2014 Razzies left Hollywood in a tumult. Mel Gibson, who won two Oscars for 1996’s Braveheart, in Best Picture and Best Directing, also won a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actor at the 2014 Razzies. The grand success of Hacksaw Ridge also invited Mel Gibson to receive the Razzie Redeemer Award, a token of achievement for Hollywood comebacks, per People.
