Rami Malek found worldwide fame when he portrayed the role of Freddie Mercury in the 2018 movie Bohemian Rhapsody. The actor later found himself portraying the character of Lyutsifer Safin in Daniel Craig’s final James Bond movie, No Time to Die.

With the 2021 movie being the last film of Daniel Craig as James Bond, Rami Malek claimed in an interview with Stephen Colbert that he and Craig shared a kiss on the sets of No Time to Die. Joking that he was a Bond girl now, Malek revealed that he was taken aback by the action.

When Daniel Craig Kissed Rami Malek

Rami Malek portrayed the character of Lyutsifer Safin quite remarkably in the 2021 movie. Starring opposite Daniel Craig, Malek, and the Knives Out actor became quite good friends on the sets of No Time to Die.

In an interview alongside Stephen Colbert, Rami Malek revealed that the actor picked him up and kissed him. On The Late Show With Stephen ColbertMalek claimed that he did not know who initiated the next moment. All he knew was that he and Daniel Craig shared a kiss and later jokingly asked that did that moment made him a Bond girl.

“He grabbed me, picked me up – and I can’t tell who initiated the next moment, whether it was him or I – but a kiss transpired between the two of us. I’m going to say that Daniel initiated it, and I was very taken aback.”

He further jokingly asked,

“So, does this make me a Bond girl?”

The confession was quite shocking for the world to hear and for a while, Craig did not respond and the world thought that it was a ruse.

Taking the talk of the kiss to Entertainment WeeklyCraig couldn’t control himself and revealed that the kiss indeed took place between him and the Mr. Robot actor did take place. In his defense, Daniel Craig stated that he kisses a lot of people.

“I kissed him, alright! I kiss lots of people. It’s like, I’m a very friendly guy, and I wouldn’t rank anybody. Listen, this story’s had legs about kissing Rami; I’ve just been trying to give it more legs. I don’t know if it’s on social media. I haven’t got social media, but I said I used to kiss Rami after the end of every scene. It’s like no big deal. God almighty. Just spreading the love.”

No Time to Die received a rating of 7.3/10 on IMDB and 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with rave reviews for Rami Malek and Daniel Craig. The 2021 film is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.
