Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has become a hot topic recently as there are rumors that the director may take some strategic steps for new hiring. Feige has been involved in the production of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man. He started his journey for the MCU as an associate and execute producer of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, DaredevilThe Punisher, Ang Lee’s Hulk, the original X-Men trilogyBlade: Trinity, and Tim Story’s Fantastic Four films. He also produced Marvel’s highest-grossing movie, Avenger: Endgame.

Kevin Feige’s New Hiring Strategies

Jeff Sneider sparked rumors while speaking on The Hot Mic, where he revealed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is making some adjustments to the hiring process of some crucial members of the team. He added that there are rumors that Feige does not want to hire underrated talents. He said,

“Feige does want to hire more established talent behind the camera.”

The rumors have started making rounds in 2022, based on insider reports by Deadline’s Justin Kroll, that Feige does not want to oversee the complete shoot of the projects. The source shared,

“Kevin [Feige] doesn’t want to oversee the entire shoot, and after not having to worry about that with [Sam] Raimi, he is very game to the same outcome with [the ‘Fantastic Four”s] shoot.”

As per the report, Feige wished to hire established talent like Sam Raimi, who completely took responsibility for the shoot of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Feige wishes for more people of that kind of talent for the Fantastic Four, hence he would have to devote lesser time to production.

Impact on Marvel Studios by Kevin Feige’s Strategies

Marvel Cinematic Universe has hired both established talents and lesser-known talents in the past. One example is the Russo brothers, who earlier wrote only for sitcoms, and later on, they got the opportunity to handle two major movies, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

However, there has also been some downside to taking chances with new talents. For instance, two new writers, Michael Waldron, and Jeff Loveness, have been involved with some of the MCU projects that did poorly at the box office.

Understanding the overall scenario, it would be wrong to assume that there will be a dearth of lesser established talents. The discovery of these hidden talents is part of the MCU since its establishment.

Many fans believe that two new on-the-scene writers, Michael Waldron, and Jeff Loveness, both were involved with poorly received MCU projects. They can be replaced with more experienced and proven talent. The reason is Jeff Loveness’s last two movies, The Kang Dynasty and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, did not do well at the box office. There are also rumors about the replacement of writers Michael Waldron and Jeff Loveness with more experienced and talented ones.

There are chances that Marvel will no longer take a bigger risk in near future, especially for its important projects.
