For the longest time, many people have wanted to witness the evil chaos that Nicolas Cage brought to the big screen with his portrayal of Ghost Rider in the MCU. Since the previous two films weren’t associated with Marvel Studios, they aren’t connected to the larger franchise that has branched over the years, which has fans anticipating Cage’s return as the Biker from Hell.
But so far, the studios have shown no sign of the character making his debut in the MCU for the foreseeable future. But unlike the fans, the star himself isn’t too annoyed by this fact, but what he is a little annoyed with is Disney’s reluctance to create a third film in the fan-favorite National Treasure series of films, something that he enjoyed shooting.
Nicolas Cage Is Disappointed That Disney Didn’t Make A Third Film In The National Treasure Series
Nicolas Cage is by far one of the most commercially and critically successful stars in the industry, with so many films to his name that it’s hard to count. But among those superhits, there are franchises that the star loved being a part of, one of them being the iconic Ghost Rider series with two films under its banner.

And since the inception of the MCU and their subsequent revival of Marvel characters from older franchises, fans have been demanding the franchise reintroduce Johnny Blaze in the main timeline. But more than this series, The Rock star revealed he’s disappointed with Disney due to them not creating a third film in their successful National Treasure series.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Cage stated that he was surprised there has been no development on a third film of this action/adventure series in the last decade and a half. He said:
“I’m still kind of amazed that Disney hasn’t wanted to make a third one.I thought the movies brought a lot of joy to the public, and it’s certainly interesting about history, and I think all of that is worthwhile filmmaking.”
And seeing what a commercial success the film was, along with farming positive reviews from both the fans and critics alike, the public too is a little annoyed by this decision.

What Do The Fans Say About This?
While it may have been more than a decade and a half since the last installment in the series was released in cinemas, fans have still not forgotten about the memories that this series was able to give them, and thus, show support to Cage’s disappointment.

Thus, even if Disney decides to make the third film in the series today, it can be seen that the fandom of those films has stayed alive and strong.
