Although the release date of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero may still be some months away, the hype among the fans hasn’t dimmed ever since it was first announced at The Game Awards in December 2023. There are countless rumors and leaks about the game surfacing on the internet from time to time.
Besides the publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment is making sure to give fans subtle updates to keep them hooked. Recently, they also launched a 13-minute-long gameplay trailer of the game which amazed the fans with its attention to detail.
Super Saiyan God Goku updated in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
The countless rumors and updates in recent months have hinted at a lot of changes in the upcoming game. Most of these changes are positive which could help improve the upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero as compared to what was seen when it was first revealed.
Among the many changes, a new change that fans have spotted is the change in Goku’s Super Saiyan God look. The change was spotted on the game’s official website and shared by a user ‘SLO’ on their official X handle. The user shared a side-by-side picture, comparing Goku’s earlier look and the new leaked look. They wrote,
“Looks like Sparking Zero updated Super Saiyan God Goku 🔥🔥🔥 looks a lot better”
The new look showcases how Goku’s model has been changed since last seen. To be precise, the color palette has been tweaked, thus making his eyes and hair adorn a brighter shade of red. Similarly, his gi has been made much darker.
The same was also shared by a user ‘Obelisk7777’ on Reddit.
It is still unknown why the makers decided to make these changes even though the initial bright yellow hair look of the Super Saiyan God was also positively received by fans.
Fans react to Goku’s new look
The new updated look has attracted mixed reactions from fans. While some fans are of the opinion that it is a positive improvement and that it looks more faithful to Goku’s look in the Dragon Ball Super anime.
A user named ‘bejita’ wrote,

While another user ‘Jorsar’ had a similar opinion. They said,
“Tbf I think the left one looks better. But the right one is more loyal to the anime since Goku looks calmer.”
On the other hand, there are also some fans who think the change is not that positive, and that the reduced shadows on Goku’s face make him seem less emotional. Some even believe that the overall detail in this new look has been reduced since the last time we saw it.
