The upcoming game is expected to be released sometime in the fourth quarter of 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Recently, the publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment, released a 13-minute gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.
The game developed by Spike Chunsoft is a multiplayer 3D anime game. It marks the newest addition to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series of games. The latest gameplay video gives players a first look into characters, combat styles, and other elements that will be seen in the upcoming game. Apart from the exciting videos, the makers also revealed 11 new playable characters.
Fan notices battle damage in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
As soon as the gameplay trailer was shared the fans were clearly in awe of the contents that the new game promises, as well as its gameplay mechanics. However, an eagle-eyed fan was quick enough to spot a minute detail, that probably missed the eyes of most other viewers.
The user named ‘MikeLitirous’ spotted and pointed out visible battle damages seen in the gameplay trailer as the game progresses. The wrote,
“The fact that theirs visible battle damage as the fight progresses on them is such a dope attention to detail. The gameplay screams BT in every way! It’s evident they’re really putting their all into this, im so hyped!!”
In the trailer, apart from the battle damage, one can also spot beam clashes, counters, and a lot of other characters returning from the Turtle Master to Nappa brawling at high speeds.
Battle Damage existed in earlier Dragon Ball games?
While several users praised ‘MikeLitirous’ for their attention to detail, there were other players who stated that the feature may not be all that new after all. Veteran Dragon Ball fans were of the opinion that the battle damage existed in most early Dragon Ball Games, however, it was discontinued in the recent games.
A user named ‘z3roninja565’ rightly pointed out,
“While it has been a thing of the past most of the more recent dragonball games don’t do battle damage at all.”
These players may be right. Historically speaking, the battle damage feature was last seen in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, which released in 2008. Players could receive battle damage by either losing a beam or ball struggle or by getting hit by an Ultimate attack. The Ultimate attack includes beams or energy, or even beam or ball attacks.
