As Bandai Namco brings out the next Budokai Tenkaichi game, it sure has paid immense attention to details. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has done justice to the original universe, whether it’s the combat or a character’s personality. To this end, fans still haven’t had enough of finding the minute details that even trained eyes would miss.
With 164 characters on the roster, a lot goes into each character being unique in its own way. But that doesn’t concern the developers, as they sure have taken their time to forge the characters in a way that players will be reminded of the days they enjoyed the popular anime.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Devs Sure Know Their Stuff
Dragon Ball has a lot of peak moments, but there’s this one scene that we can’t get enough of, no matter how many times we see it. Just before his fight against the legendary Super Saiyan Broly, Goku does this warm-up for a few seconds that has become one of the peakĀ Dragon BallĀ moments throughout the years.
And how could developers forget this? So they decided to add it to the upcoming Bandai Namco game. A fan on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Jedo, shared a short clip that compares the move and Sparking Zero captures it beautifully.

While Goku is up against Broly in the movie, the image below depicts theĀ Dragon BallĀ protagonist in a fight with his enemy turned ally, Vegeta. One of the users, dubbed LannisterDoh, commented that the move is akin to the one Brock Lesner does.

After watching this, it is safe to say the game does justice to whoever is joining the roster. In one of the moments from Master vs. Apprentice, we can see Yamcha’s Wolf Fang Fist technique was captured inĀ Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero in a way that other games have failed to.
No Matter How Old Goku Gets, He Never Gets Old
Given that the game is coming after 17 years, we are likely to see dramatic changes. More than that, players might be waiting to see other Goku transformations, like the Super Saiyan God and Ultra Instinct, that weren’t possibly developed forĀ Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Apart from this, Goku will be retaining his voice, given that Sean Schemmel is returning for the character. The voice actor recently revealed that he has put in between 60 and 80 hours for the cheery fighter. Unfortunately, some characters won’t have the same luck.
It will be nice to see what more details are hidden in the trailers, as that’s all we can do until the game arrives. While we don’t have an exact date for the game’s arrival, some leaks suggest it will be October 1, 2024.
