Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Needs to Avoid Breaking the Formula of Previous Budokai Tenkaichi Games by Including One Separate Character

SUMMARY

  • Keeping Goku at five transformation limit as with other characters and having a separate character with MUI made more sense as per most fans.
  • Others argued it could still be a transformation that players can work their way up towards rather than have a separate character.
  • Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is yet to get a release date and whichever way Bandai Namco chooses to go with, the game is sure to be a massive success.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is coming out this year and fans waiting impatiently are coming up with several new theories. This state makes Goku the strongest he has ever been in the franchise and if Sparking Zero features this, this Reddit discussion has fans wondering if it will be a separate character. While many have commented on the post in agreement, some disagreed over having a separate character.

One of the comments mentioned Goku will have three transformations – Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan God, and a Super Saiyan Blue while the Ultra Instinct Sign will transform into MUI.

The user mentions the most forms a single character had in all of the previous Budokai Tenkaichi titles was five but giving Goku the MUI will make it go further than that which wouldn’t make sense. The comment concludes by stating a way out to accommodate the MUI to be included in the same character by removing the Ultra Instinct sign.

Not all those who commented were in agreement over having a separate character either.

This user commented that leveling up through transformation would make it a lot more interesting than having MUI as a separate character. A reply to that comment stated how Goku’s every transformation is “able to be programmed with its own combo strings and special moves.

One of the other comments argued that starting Goku with MUI would leave that form as permanent, while another mentioned how Goku “never transformed into ultra instinct by will.” A lot of others, however, were in unison about the MUI being a separate character as featured in previous games.

Whichever way Bandai Namco has chosen to go in the final game, fans will no doubt pick up Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero as soon as it’s released to break concurrent player numbers on Steam. The game is expected to release later this year and fans are waiting for a confirmation on a release date about which Bandai Namco has done a good job in keeping it a secret.

The 4th of October this year will be the 17th anniversary of Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and fans hope the date coincides with the release of Sparking! Zero as well.
