Arguably, one of the most exciting features seems to be taken from the previous Budokai Tenkaichi games. It was brought to many people’s attention by a post on the Tenkaichi 4 subreddit (referring to the upcoming SZ title).

In the screenshot, we can see legendary Saiyans Broly and Kale going at it with each other. However, these two actually never meet in canonical media.

Let’s go back in time a bit to the original BT games. They had a cool feature called ‘What-If‘ where players could trigger instances not depicted in the original manga or anime series.

These moments were created during gameplay by specific conditions, such as completing a fight in Dragon History without using certain mechanics.

For instance, in the chapter “Goku Strikes Back,” if the player chooses not to press the R3 trigger during the fight against King Piccolo, after his defeat, Tambourine may suddenly appear to attack Goku. In this scenario, Goku, exhausted from the battle, is unable to fend off Tambourine’s assault. However, Chi-Chi intervenes, saving Goku from potential harm.

Now, back to SZ. While there are many probabilities as to what the Broly x Kale scene from the showcase could be, a lot of players feel that it’s a hint at What-Ifs making a comeback—and they couldn’t be happier.
