After over 8 years of publication, Dragon Ball Super is about to release the 100th Chapter in the series. Akira Toriyama’s creation will deliver a special surprise to readers in order to celebrate the milestone, courtesy of manga artist Toyotarou’s brilliant skills.
Released on November 20, 2023, Dragon Ball Super Chapter 99 with a cliffhanger on Gohan’s fight with Cell Max. The latter was invoked by Magenta as a last resort to help the villains win. After each side had powered themselves to their limit, Chapter 99 ended with Piccolo shouting instructions to Gohan, who aimed a Special Beam Cannon toward Cell Max.

Akira Toriyama wants to make fans wait for the result of Gohan’s fight and the overall conclusion of the Super Heroes arc. This is one of the reasons why the ending of the arc has been pushed to Chapter 100, while the latest chapter has been fleshed out to depict the increased powers of Gohan and Cell Max and Piccolo’s ever-present influence in developing Goku’s son.

V-Jump has confirmed that the next edition of Dragon Ball Super is going to have a color page. Color pages are always welcome as they give an insight into how the animation storyboards will turn out to be for Season 2.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 100 will be released on December 20, 2023, on the official pages of Manga Plus and Viz Media. The raw scans will be made available three days prior to its debut. The hype is around Gohan defeating Cell Max after the failure of Trunks and Goten to subdue the villain but there could be a twist in the tale.
The debut of Black Frieza in the Granolah arc has rejuvenated interest in the unpredictability of Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball Super’s mangaka could be aiming to bring back more iconic villains from the franchise.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 100 May Shift The Story Towards Goku and Vegeta
The super-strong Goku and Vegeta have been outmatched once again, meaning that they could unlock another new form to trump Black Frieza. The returning villain one-shot the two Saiyans on the planet Cereal before revealing that he is searching for the “strongest warrior in the universe.” Ever since that bizarre statement, the story has shifted to the Super Heroes Arc.
Gohan’s battle with Cell Max is expected to end in the first 20 pages of Chapter 100. Both characters have revealed their ultimate forms and techniques, with Cell even casting an illusion of Piccolo’s death that enraged the usually calm Gohan. After the result of the fight, fans may get transported to Beerus’ world, where Whis has been planning to put a stop to Black Frieza.
Frieza has all the remaining Heeters under his control and is possibly aiming to reform his galactic empire. His interesting decision to spare Goku and Vegeta highlights how the antagonist is aiming to enslave a few Saiyans to aid in his mission of conquering Universes. Nonetheless, Black Frieza’s search for the ‘strongest warrior’ has fans immediately pointing fingers at Beerus and Zeno.
It is worth mentioning that Frieza tried to overpower Zeno in the Universal Survival Arc but ended up losing Frost in the process. The villain swore he would rule over Zeno after the humiliating defeat. Does this mean that Black Frieza is the final big bad? It certainly looks like it.
