There are a lot of ways and factors that are used to determine the success of something in the gaming industry. While one can argue looking at the popularity of the game should be enough, how things usually work is by looking at the amount of sales a particular title has sold.

Such is the case with the recent Dragon’s Dogma 2 title, which was able to overtake the record of the director’s past title, Devil May Cry 5, without any effort. While the comparison should not hold any real meaning behind itself, it shows how well the recent game is being received by the audience.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gets Past Devil May Cry 5’s Sales Records Without Any Effort

As pointed out by this Twitter user accompanied by an official statement from Capcom, the latest title by Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon’s Dogma series has managed to sell over 2.5 million copies in just 11 days. Through this, the game has officially defeated the director’s past fastest-selling game Devil May Cry 5, which sold 2 million copies in 2 weeks, i.e. 14 days.

The aforementioned user also made use of the opportunity to state how he believes the recent Dragon’s Dogma 2 title is significantly better than the director’s past release, using the sales amount to give credit to his statement.

It is important to note how both the games mentioned above have their own separate standings in the gaming industry, and considering the number of copies and units sold for the games is just a figurative way to compare the two franchises with each other.

Unfortunately, one of the worst features that Capcom has decided to add to the recent title is microtransactions, one of the most hated elements by the gaming community. This is also the reason why the new and upcoming Stellar Blade title is receiving appreciation from users on social media platforms as the game fails to lock cosmetics and features behind a paywall.

Upcoming Stellar Blade Title Will Not Require You To Pay More To Unlock Cosmetics

As revealed by the director of the game, Hyung-Tae Kim, Stellar Blade, a game scheduled to be released on 26th April 2024 exclusively on PS5 will feature a total of 30 different outfits that can be unlocked by the player just by playing the game.

Hyung-Tae Kim further mentioned how the outfits will be made available to the player as he explores the game and progresses towards the end, by going on missions and quests and also in the in-game item shop where they can buy cosmetics for the characters. He discussed how this will help the player enjoy the collecting element of the game.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available to purchase on Steam.
