The Drake Curse has become a hilarious trend over the years and the rapper has not slowed down in showing his support for players and making bets on them. However, the rapper’s unlucky curse has led to the downfall of many athletes and sportspeople. Infamously, Conor McGregor and Anthony Joshua were some of the major victims of the so-called curse.
The curse seemed to have died down with Drake supporting Alphonso Davies and Tyson Fury in 2021 and them tasting success. Recently the rapper placed a $700,000 bet on Sean Strickland in his fight against Dricus du Plessis. Unfortunately, Strickland has fallen victim to the curse as du Plessis emerged victorious and became the UFC Middleweight Champion.

du Plessis’ victory is historic as he is the first South African fighter to become a UFC champion. While fans continue to poke fun at Drake for the loss, the Drake Curse trend has picked up steam again. This recent example will once again remind fans and other sportspeople as to why the rapper might be a bad omen for any kind of association.

GORDO Reveals The Insane Workaholic Nature Of His Close Friend Drake
Drake released his eighth studio album last year titled For All the Dogs. His close friend GORDO who collaborated with Drake on his previous album Honestly, Nevermind, returned for the eighth album and received producing credits on the songs Gently and Rich Baby Daddy. The former rapper talked about what he and Drake wanted to accomplish with the new album.
Speaking to Complex, GORDO revealed that Drake wanted something different for the album, and the two worked for weeks brainstorming ideas. He also claimed that Drake was a madman and constantly worked for weeks without sleeping. He said,
“He told me that he needed something different. Weeks and weeks and weeks… we sat there for a long time trying to figure out what I [could] bring to the table. He’s a mad man. He’s insane. He doesn’t sleep. He just works, works, works, works. He’ll call me at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. in the morning. I’m like, bro, “go to bed. You’re insane.” So that’s what I learned.”
The album received mixed reviews when it was released and fell short of Drake’s previous superior works. He also released a poetry book titled Titles Ruin Everything last July.
